Latest version is MUCH better!
This latest version is SO good, I don’t understand why there are ANY negative reviews (I’m running it with iOS 9.3 and watchOS 2.2).
I needed to try this since I’m paying more attention to HealthKit data now that I got my watch. I wasn’t sure how this was going to work (from a power standpoint), but if I charge my phone when I’m heading to bed and top it off in the morning I can be at 100% when I walk out of the house.
You do still have to hit “going to sleep” and “I woke up” (something like that) and it has gotten MUCH smarter to figure out when I went to sleep and when I woke.
It has gotten much smarter in the data that it passes to HealthKit, skipping gaps that it knows you weren’t sleeping. NOW the app allows you to trim the data (at either end), you can trim the data if you know you weren’t sleeping and just laying there.
It would be really nice if it counted how many times I truly got up in the middle of the night; it doesn’t seem to make any distinction between restless minutes and when you’ve gotten up and left the room. Knowing that I was "restless for 38 minutes" or “restless for 38 minutes AND got up 3 times” is much more relevant data. I know there isn’t useful ways to report this to Health, but I’d know it. (Yes, in the morning I know about how many times i got up, but weeks later reviewing the data I don’t).
FYI, be sure to put your watch in Airplane mode to save battery power. You do need to figure out a routine to charge your watch since you’re using ti 24/7 now: charge in the shower and when getting ready in the morning. I set a timer on the watch before I remove it, to remind me to come back and get it when it’s likely to be done (so I don’t leave it at home!).
HealthKit related: It’s improved it’s two entries to HealthKit each time I sleep, “In Bed” and “Asleep” while they USED to have the same start and end times, now it’s different and the data appears much better.
